Hi! I’m Nikhil, and I’m currently a Master of Science student at UCLA. I am studying Aerospace Engineering with a focus on systems & controls, and a minor focus in applied mathematics. In June I completed my double major at UCLA getting a Bachelor of Science in both Mechanical Engineering (cum laude) and Mathematics of Computation.
Over the past 10 years, I have accrued a diverse skillset within engineering. This began in 7th grade when I built my first drone. In high school, I joined the robotics team in my freshman year. In robotics, I contributed a mix of electrical and mechanical work until my senior year when I pivoted into software, where I developed a modular codebase to work across robots and autonomous functions to maximize scoring in games.
This continued into my work on UCLA’s FSAE team Bruin Formula Racing. I designed, manufactured, and validated a pneumatic shifting system, which helped achieve a 20% increase in subteam design score, as well as ergonomic and performance improvements. In my senior year, as Technical Director I led the team to design, build, and test its first electric vehicle.
Professionally, I have interned at Magnetic Insight and RITEC. At Magnetic Insight, my responsibilities included 3D printing, mechanical design, non-destructive testing, data processing, and motor control. The past summer I interned at RITEC, where my responsibilities included pneumatic system design, control analysis, assembly fixturing, and wire harness design.
I am currently looking for full-time work in GNC or Automation Engineering in the aerospace or robotics fields. I am open to relocation, with a preference towards states on the West Coast. I look forward to connecting with those who share my passion for these fields!
